South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative (SCRTC) is headquartered in Glasgow and provides service through out central Kentucky. SCRTC is managed by seven Board of Directors, each elected by the members in their district. SCRTC also has 124 full time employees and 27,000 member-owners.
SCRTC is a full service telecommunications company offering traditional telephone, digital television, DSL Internet, and dial-up Internet service across nine counties (Barren, Metcalfe, Hart, Green, Larue, Allen, Monroe, Adair, and Nelson).
Currently SCRTC has 30,000 access lines, 16,121 video customers, 11,659DSL customers, and 1500 dial-up Internet customers. SCRTC is also a part owner of Blue Grass networks and Blue Grass Cellular Corporations. Additionally, South Central is providing its services through South Central Telcom LLC (SCT), a wholly owned subsidiary approved by the Kentucky Public Service Commission as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC). South Central is providing these services in adjoining communities currently served by other telephone companies.
